2007 Friendship Games held at The Quadrangle - Kendal Brings Home Three Gold Medals!

The Fifth Annual Friendship Games were held at the Quadrangle, a CCRC in Haverford. Residents from 21 CCRC communities competed in tennis, team trek, golf putt, egg on spoon race, horseshoes, croquet, ping pong, trivia, swim meet and billiards. Kendal residents Jim Hazzard and Wenonah Harman won the gold for doubles tennis, beating every tennis team there. Dick Kirk won the gold medal for the men's swim event, with the fastest time.  The other Kendal residents who participated were Annie Hazzard & Martin Beer (golf putt), Margie Greist (team trek), Bill Nichols (team trek) and Hilda Grauman (egg on spoon race). The Friendship Games are similar to a Senior Olympics.  

Residents vs. Staff Water Volleyball Rematch Results!

Back at the end of 2006 Kendal at Longwood hosted a resident vs. staff Water Volleyball Game at the new Wellness Center.  Our resident Water Volleyball Team had just brought home a huge trophy so we should've known they would win all four games (it was a sweep).

Game Two - Residents won 7-0

Game Three - Staff won 7-0

Game Four (just for fun) - Residents won 9-7

Future Residents Invited to Participate in Long Range Planning Process

KCC is currently developing a strategic plan for the future, and is seeking input from members of the Waiting and Ready Lists. Over the past few months, Board, staff and resident workgroups have been working on specific subject areas and conducting interviews with residents, staff, board members and local community leaders. A survey has been sent to all of the people on our Waiting and Ready Lists to get an understanding of their expectations of Kendal Crosslands Communities for the future. DVD Premiere of "New Beginnings; The Kendal Experience"

The long awaited Kendal DVD premiered at all Kendal communities on February 8, 2007.  There was a full house at both Kendal at Longwood and at Crosslands.  Popcorn and punch were provided.  The DVD's will be available at the gift shops, libraries and may also be requested via phone or internet.
