Activities abound wherever you go

Whether you enjoy the outdoors by gardening, hiking, or taking a leisurely stroll on a paved pathway, our campus features leads to new adventures in the great wide open.  Or, perhaps you would like to try pottery, weaving, or reading a book in one of our extensive libraries, there are many activities to leisurely spend your time indoors as well.

Outside – explore our 500 acre campus:

Find yourself surrounded by acres of rolling hills, wooded trails, green meadows, vegetable and flower gardens, inviting patios, country farm homes and tranquil water features. Relax your summer days by the outdoor pool, putting greens, and tennis and croquet courts. Walking and hiking trails, as well as paved pathways, surround and connect Kendal and Crosslands. Take a stroll through the Arboretum.  On over 500 acres in the heart of the Brandywine Valley, you will live in an oasis of historic countryside yet be close to the cultural metropolitan life just outside our door.  And let’s not forget our ‘furry friends’ – – the newly formed Dog Park is abound with wagging tails.

Inside the community, you will discover pottery, woodworking, painting, and other cultural art rooms to enjoy. Surround yourself in over 20,000 books, periodicals, videos, and magazines in two libraries.  Take in a show or concert, join a book club, enjoy a class, have coffee with a friend, or have an invigorating workout in the fitness and aquatic centers. Discover your creative side with jewelry making, origami, or flower arranging.  The possibilities are endless to create, relax, and unwind.
