
Kendal-Crosslands Communities
is involved with a variety of local organizations for the benefit
of the wider community. Residents and staff are active locally,
serving on boards of non-profit organizations, participating in
local events, and supplying volunteer services to numerous community
initiatives.
Resident and Staff Volunteerism
Both residents and staff of Kendal-Crosslands Communities are
encouraged to become involved and volunteer in the local community.
Residents are involved in:

the “After
the Bell” program at the Kennett School District, which
is an after school educational program for middle school age
children

teaching and participating
at the Academy of Life Long Learning of the University of
Delaware, which is located in nearby Wilmington, Delaware.
Helping
Hands Program
Kendal-Crosslands Communities, in collaboration with The Kennett Area Senior Center, has implemented
the local outreach program “Helping Hands”, which
provides housekeeping services to local age and income qualified
seniors at a discounted rate. For more information about the Helping
