In observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Sharing on January 21, 2008, Kendal-Crosslands Communities staff members had the opportunity to volunteer that day in the local community and were paid by KCC for that service. This is the fourth year that KCC has sponsored a day of service for staff members on MLK Jr. Day.

The KCC volunteers teamed up with others from the wider Kennett Square community for service activities at more than 11 non-profit organizations. They painted, moved furniture, removed carpeting, sorted clothing donations, did outdoor and indoor clean up projects, delivered Meals on Wheels, and helped to serve at the MLK Jr. Day CommUnity Breakfast.
