For KCC Staff

Kendal-Crosslands Communities (KCC) values and fosters a high quality work experience for staff, recognizing that our communities must be good places to work if they are to be good places to live.

Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day

Take Our Daughters & Sons To Work Day.  What a great day!  Forty-four daughters, sons, and other guests attended the Kendal-Crosslands Communities observance of Take Our Daughters & Sons To Work Day on April 23, 2009.

The theme for this year’s event was Teamwork: Building Partnerships, and the day’s activities centered on empowering children to make more informed decisions about careers.

After activities and time spent with parents/sponsors at each community in the morning, the children all gathered at the Kendal Wellness Center in the afternoon for boat races and a free swim at the pool.

Martin Luther King Jr.,

Day of Sharing

In observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, more than 25 Kendal-Crosslands Communities (KCC) staff members volunteered as part of their regular work day for the Day of Sharing  in the local community on January 19, 2009.   The MLK, Jr. Day of Sharing  is an initiative adopted by the MLK, Jr. CommUnity Breakfast Committee in 2007. KCC began sponsoring a day of service for KCC staff in 2005, and this year the wider Kennett Square, PA community once again joined in for the volunteer service activities at 12 non-profit organizations and churches.   More than 115 volunteers from the local area teamed up with KCC staff in the Day of Sharing projects. They painted, moved furniture, removed carpeting, sorted clothing donations, did outdoor and indoor clean up projects, delivered Meals on Wheels, and helped to serve at the MLK, JR. Day CommUnity Breakfast.

American Red Cross Blood Drive

Thanks donors! Thirty-six productive units of blood were collected at the annual American Red Cross Blood Drive at Kendal-Crosslands Communities (KCC) on July 14, 2009.  Forty-three donors presented at the blood drive including 17 first-time donors. The 36 productive units collected will go on to help more than 108 area hospital patients.  The KCC Safety Committee sponsors the blood drive each year. Since 1992, a total of 776 pints of blood have been collected at the blood drives at KCC helping more than 2,328 hospital patients. Thirteen percent of those donations were from first-time donors.
