Submit Your Antique Furniture to be Appraised!

Most importantly, The Antiques Roadshow is looking for furniture to appraise, and they will move your pieces for free within a 60 mile radius of the event. That means if you are a Kendal-Crosslands resident or live in our area, you can submit a photograph of your antique furniture, and if accepted, make arrangements for them to come and pick up your piece, and deliver it back home to you, free of charge!

Learn More About Winterthur

Winterthur is the premier museum of American decorative arts, with an unparalleled collection of nearly 90,000 objects made or used in America between about 1640 and 1860. Henry Francis du Pont opened his incredible collection in his 175 room home to the public almost 60 years ago, and it has become one of the jewels in the Brandywine Valley. The museum also has informative permanent and traveling exhibitions. Last year, a wonderful exhibit featuring items from Masterpiece’s Downton Abbey and discussing life in the early 20th century drew visitors from throughout the region.

Winterthur is set amidst a 1,000-acre preserve of rolling meadows and woodlands. Designed by du Pont, its 60-acre naturalistic garden is among America’s best, with magnificent specimen plantings and massed displays of color. Graduate programs and a preeminent research library make Winterthur an important center for the study of American art and culture.  Winterthur and nearby Longwood Gardens are just two of the many local resources that help make Kendal-Crosslands a wonderful place to retire.
