Dr. Alexander and Karen Newell believe that we are just really starting to understand consciousness, and there are steps we can all take to better understand our interconnectedness.
Dr. Alexander is best known for his New York Times Best-selling book, Proof of Heaven: A Neurosurgeon’s Journey into the Afterlife. Karen Newell is co-founder of Sacred Acoustics, which uses brainwave entrainment audio meditation to help others in their journeys of self-discovery.
Working together since 2011, Dr. Alexander and Karen Newell have produced a recording Seeking Heaven- Sound Journeys into the Beyond, and have written a new book, Living in a Mindful Universe, a Neurosurgeon’s Journey into The Heart of Consciousness.
More about Dr. Alexander
Dr. Alexander had a near-death experience (NDE) caused by severe meningitis in 2008. After suddenly coming out of a coma which he was unexpected to survive, he recalled an amazing experience that changed his whole understanding of the brain and how consciousness exists. His challenge to better comprehend the lessons from his NDE relates to a revolutionary shift now underway within our modern scientific understanding of Who are we? Where did we come from, and why are we here?
Dr. Alexander and Karen Newell believe that by transcending the limitations of the human brain, and of the physical-material realm, will allow us to recognize the fundamental truth of our underlying nature. Becoming aware of the reality of consciousness and the binding force of love will lead to unprecedented individual growth and understanding.
As we discussed their work, Dr. Alexander described the tremendous revelations he had through his NDE and subsequent research, that humanity is all connected, and that there is a larger world view than religion and material science alone convey. This includes messages about the eternity of the soul and what happens after we leave our physical bodies and how we can access different planes of consciousness to become more mindful and in touch with the world.
Karen added that the meditations and binaural beats were helpful in allowing people to tune their minds, like a radio, into different frequencies or planes of consciousness to explore universal truths and find peace. Different binaural beats can help people enhance focus, concentration, or even achieve profoundly relaxed states. Becoming aware of the reality of consciousness and the binding force of love will lead to unprecedented individual growth and understanding.
In their workshops on Saturday, March 28th, you can explore insights on consciousness and the mindful universe. In addition, you will be able to experience acoustical journeys that will help access different planes of consciousness and explore the experiences together through guided meditations and discussions following.
As Karen Newell and Dr. Alexander explain, “As each of us discovers our soul’s true purpose, together we can shift the current predominant world paradigm into one that acknowledges the oneness and interconnectedness of all.”
The lecture will take place from 6:30 – 8:30 pm on Friday, March 27th at the Philips Autograph Library on the West Chester University Campus, 700 S. High Street, West Chester PA 19383. (See map below) Tickets can be purchased for $20.00 by clicking here.
The sound exploration workshop will take place at the same location from 9 am – 12 noon on Saturday, March 28th. Tickets for the workshop are also $20. A discount is available for combined tickets for the evening lecture and morning workshop for $30 and can also be purchased by clicking here and choosing that option.
“Consciousness is a continuum in which at every stage we have the opportunity for learning and growth.”
